after years of having to practically sit on my washing machine to keep it from walking out the door i decided enough was enough and went shopping for a new washing machine. i had three appliance stores to visit that were less than 10 mi. away. now, i have been saving for years for this day and i planned my visits to ea. store very carefully. i know that some business will negotiate over scratches, cash, etc.. one out of the three did negotiate and i bought a crossley front loader for $650.00 and delivery and set up was same day and free. the same machine could not be bought at the other stores for less than 750.00 and if i had gone to a larger city 40 mi. away i would have spent more than 900.00 plus delivery and set up. my $650. 00 will be replaced with what i save in detergent and water..which has become high priced commondities in my neck of the woods. i plan to visit target next time i go to memphis and get one of those soap foamer thingies....what is better than being frugal is spending money wisely! amazing what can cheer us up!
