A DUH Moment Regarding the Foaming Hand Soap

Ok, so I thought I was so smart by talking about the foaming hand soap dispenser.  Only $7.99 I spouted.   Oh the money I thought I was going to save.

Then, the very next day I was at Walmart and I had a huge DUH moment.  Instead of spending $7.99 on a fancy foaming hand soap dispenser, why not buy one that is already filled and just reuse it?

So, I bought one made by Dial because it was most appealing (completely clear) and spent $1.84.  Luckily I thought of this before I spent the $7.99 and now I’ve just saved myself an additional six bucks.

I think that’s the key to truly saving money is to think outside the box.  Find new uses for items, find items that can be reused, and find items that can stretch so that you can get more bang for your buck.

okay smarty pants! i am glad you had a “duh” moment…and thankfully, i have to drive 2 hours of interstate to get to the nearest target so I have not gone there yet. My best bargain this week was neckties….I sew, quilt, etc… and so I am collecting no longer used and no longer wanted neckties..today i was given 70. Several hundred more and I will be able to begin a planned for the future major project of beauty by recycling the neckties. While I was looking them over I decided that I would have to incorporate the labels as well since most were gorgeous and from countries all over the world. Of course, no collectors items yet like a beatles tie worth a fortune.

You’re so right, thanks for the money saving tip. These sorts of innovative ideas are exactly what people need these days, not only does it help your finances, it also lessens the amount of waste going out into the environment. It’s amazing the amount of cash saving ideas that just pass us by. Another way to save money from shopping is by planning your weekly meals. Instead of making spontaneous decisions on what to eat each day, decide at the start of the week what meal you’re going to cook up on what day and buy only those needed ingredients.
