I Need a Miracle for my Hubby
We haven’t heard anything about my husband’s missing truck or, more importantly, its contents. I’ve never seen him so depressed and it’s killing me. He just got a contract with a major casino near here to teach guitar to a group of students and he starts tomorrow. Nothing like teaching a guitar class when your guitar was just stolen.
So, anyhow, I want to make a miracle happen. Somehow, someway, I’m going to come up with the money to get him a new guitar. This is where you come in. I need MORE ideas on ways to come up with some quick cash. This is what I have in mind so far:
- Recycle and asking everyone I know to save their recycling for me
- Sell anything I have of value
- Make things I can sell (I can crochet, sew, bead, etc.)
Ok, my list is weak, but it’s because my mind is racing a mile a minute. If only I had been in the first group of people to get their stimulus check! But unfortunately, we’re due to get ours next Friday (hopefully sooner!).
Ok, so please send me your ideas. I will do almost anything at this point and I thank you in advance for your thoughts.

How much does a guitar cost these days?
They range in price from $100 to several thousand dollars. Unfortunately, he had a thousand dollar guitar. I just realized that the prices have increased since we bought it 2 years ago…I have found them online ranging from $1200 - $1800.
Well, in the short-term, i think you might have a few options, like renting a guitar. It’s more expensive in the long run, but it would get him going on his new job. There are also rent-to-own music stores. Again, more in the long term, but the payments are manageable!
Other options include getting it used. Ebay, amazon (through re-sellers), local Pawn shops, &c.
Taking a loan for this (NOT putting it on a CC) would in-fact be reasonable, as well, since this is an investment in your family income.
Any DVDs in your home that you guys don’t watch really are cash at a used video store. but DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR, and call all of the ones you can find in your phone book, local.google.com, local.yahoo.com, &c. Get prices from each of them. Let them know that you are price comparing to other stores in the area, and you may get a small bump. get the name of the person you talked with, so that when you come in, you can quote the price.
If you really ARE planning on using your stimuls check to do this, you COULD use a credit card like TODAY, and pay off the bill with the Stimuls check.
Have you guys contacted your insurance? (i hope you had insurance, i am sorry if you didn’t!)
Please, both of you, focus on the positive, though. I mean, what if you two had been car-jacked? You guys could be injured! you guys could have been killed! What if your CHILD was still in the car when it got stolen? There is a lot to be thankful for.
Are you guys a member of a local church? This may be the time to ask for a favour. There is nothing wrong with asking for charity, if you really need it. And you two do, right now. ESPECIALLY if you plan on paying it back, then it’s just a friendly loan.
There may also be other local charities in the area to help. You said you were willing to do anything, and asking for help from charities is on that list.
Just becareful when you start considering selling plasma!
Be well!
If it were me, I’d by a cheap temporary solution, just to get by for now…
Once you both get back on your feet, you can splash out and get the $1000 guitar.
I hope things work out. Good luck with everything.
Lisa, put up a PayPal Donation button. It can’t hurt and it may help a great deal. Forget about it being cyber-begging. I’m sure there are a few people who’d be willing to pitch in.

Also, put up a Scratchback widget. Put 5 dollars as the price (or whatever you choose). Some people are more inclined to buy a link, even if it isn’t do follow.
