The Top 5 Bloggers Who Changed My Life in 2008

Although technically I started blogging in 2007, this year brought about new ways of doing things as well as new endeavors.  Along the way I have had several more experienced bloggers teach me new things, help me out and overall just help me to improve my life.  I’m not yet making enough money to quit my part-time job, but I think this will be the year it happens.

So who helped me change my life in 2008 and how did they do it?

  1. Courtney Tuttle – This was one of the first blogs I started reading when I decided to start blogging.  I got this blog’s theme from his site and when I contacted him regarding my ambitions, he actually responded!  Now I also follow him at The Keyword Academy.
  2. John Chow – I think every potential blogger comes across this name when they look into making money online.  I really learned a lot from reading his free ebook and he even helped me out during a very difficult time in my family’s lives this year.
  3. Caroline Middlebrook – Her free eBook on Niche Sites was absolutely wonderful and taught me a new way of setting up blogs to make money.  I especially appreciate her candidness when speaking of her own life.
  4. Amy BassThe Niche Blogger has been very life changing for me.  I’ve learned many of the ins and outs of SEO and think this has the potential to get me to the income level I need to stay at home this year.
  5. Josh Spaulding – This was a recommendation from a friend and he was described as having good advice and being very down to earth.  His free eBook – The $5 Mini-Site Formula – got some very quick results for me.  I really like the techniques he recommends and appreciate his kind nature and the fact that he personally responded to me when I emailed him.

So, as 2008 draws to a close, I’m very much looking forward to the coming year.  I know 2009 is going to be the year where I see more success online than I ever have and where, in conjuction with saving money, we’re able to pay off even more debt and live comfortably.

I agree with you about Courtney – definitely the MMO blogger of the year. It’s a shame all the trouble with had with Google penalizing his site.

And thanks for including The Niche Blogger on the list. That’s a new site to me.

Fellow ehow-er’ here. Luv your blog! I have only heard of one of these thanks for the other tips on help. I will look in to them. I have a website started up but i got bored so I wanted to switch themes.
I’m following a blogger at http://www.2planawebsite.com and http://www.2createawebsite.com. She has some fab video’s to watch so its a lot of listen to learn rather than read to learn. I’m clicking on my way out. Always willing to help out a fellow blogger. Bookmarking your site as well. I’ll be back :)

I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned Pot Pie Girl as you have a link to her sales page. Or is that new and doesn’t count as last years mentors?

To help you get more sales for those links how about adding your own bonus to them too? It’s just something I’ve seen being done in the last couple of days so I’ve not even got around to doing it on my own blog yet.

I just saw your post on Josh’s site and thought I’d pass this tip ont to you to add to your sales armoury.

In regard to your confidence. Looking over this site I’d say you should be feeling pretty confident with yourself. You are doing better than me. Just accept that learning takes time and persistance.

    Keep smiling

That’s a very interesting list of varied bloggers. I agree with Josh – he was recommended to me and I really like his blog. Courtney Tuttle might just be the single best out there as far as learning the online ropes. Thanks for sharing this list.

You definitely made the right choice for your No.1 position!

I read Courtney’s Keyword Academy report and it blew my mind away – that was the best ebook I read online!
