Top 3 Books on Saving Money For Moms
Our family has seen some difficult financial times and that is the biggest reason why we live frugally. I never dreamed that I would be able to stay at home with our children and that our family could survive on one income, but we’ve been doing so for over a year now! The adjustments are always difficult at first, but these books on saving money have been an absolute lifesaver for me!
- Miserly Moms – Living on One Income in a Two Income Economy – I won this book in a little contest on another website and it has been a wealth of information for me! There are SO many tips in this book and so much information that was eye opening. I really enjoyed the recipes too.
- Miserly Meals – I am a sucker for cheap meals, so I couldn’t pass up this valuable resource for inexpensive healthy meals. You can find everything from dinners to desserts to snacks and the homemade mixes are really useful.
- The Complete Tightwad Gazette – A lot of times you’ll see the same tips recycled, but there are definitely some unique ideas in this book. Some of the ideas are a bit extreme, but you can definitely use the ones that are practical for you and your family and leave the rest.
If you’re considering the transition to one income, these books on saving money can definitely help you. It is a bit of a struggle when you first begin, but after awhile, living frugally becomes second nature.
Does Miserly Meals have healthy cheap meals? I am really looking for a book like that. I am all about cheap meals and good deals!

Yes Miserly Meals does!
Love the title “The Complete Tightwad Gazette.” As far as titles to money saving books go, it doesn’t get much better than that. I enjoy books like that, I’ll have to give them a look through…it might be for an hour or two at Barnes and Noble, but that’s one of my money saving methods

Thank you for the book tips. With a much reduced income for the last year or so it is so important that I find ways to stretch my hard earned dollar.
Thanks for sharing these. I take off time each summer to be home with my step kids so my hubby can have his visitation time with them. During that time things are tight for us until I go back to work in the fall.
That’s cool I have never heard of any of those, I like the idea of good inexpensive healthy meals. I try to eat healthy but it’s so much more expensive then buying the processed crap!
